‘Registration’

Lake Alfred, FL — The World Wakeboard Association (WWA), the World’s premier provider of amateur and professional wakeboard events, judges and sanctioning, has opened global registration for the 2011 WWA Wake Park World Championships, hosted by Al Forsan International Sports Resort.

“Since the announcement of The WWA World Championship’s site selection a few weeks ago, request for information has been unbelievable,” said WWA President Shannon Starling. “Due to the unique facility at Al Forsan and the first-ever cable event in the Middle East, we’re expecting one of the largest and strongest fields in The WWA’s 23 year history of hosting The World Championships of wakeboarding.”

Seventeen divisions of pro and amateur riders will compete for top honors at Al Forsan of Abu Dhabi. In preparation for the largest gathering of competitive cable athletes in the World, Al Forsan is creating special rider and family packages to include hotel, meal and registration. In addition, guests will be given opportunity to use resort amenities and visit other Abu Dhabi area sites, such as Ferrari World, Yas Island, and other unique Abu Dhabi experiences.

In addition to the four-day riding event, riders and families will be able to tour and use the brand-new sports facility, one of the most expansive sports complexes ever built. While the cable area offers two freshwater cable lakes (with clockwise and counterclockwise full cable systems, a two-tower unit and first-of-its-kind filtration system), Al Forsan boasts state-of-the-art equestrian, shooting, go-karting, paintball and fitness venues, which are also scheduled to host world-class regional, national, and global events for their respective sports.
