From Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. (October 20, 2011) – Top Professional wakeboarders just wrapped up their first visit to the most hyped wake park in the World; Al Forsan International Sports Resort. Rider preparation for the WWA Wake Park World Championships, December 7-10, 2011 has officially begun.
Wake Park World Series rankings leader, Tom Fooshee; 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Champion, Dean Smith; and multi-WWA Wakeboard World Champion, Amber Wing, were able to take full advantage of the brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Abu Dhabi. The riders seemed to have the complex to themselves, as each were able to ride the right-footed cable, left-footed cable, race the karts, and play paintball until contentment set in.
Amber, Tom, and Dean were also able to experience Abu Dhabi in real style. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Emirates Palace, and Ferrari World became invaded by the worlds the top wakeboarders. Traditional attire was the name of the game at the Grand Mosque as the host gave an in-depth tour of the amazing facility. At Emirates Palace, a cup of cappuccino was served… and devoured. And at Ferrari World, the fastest roller coaster in the World was conquered.
The following day, local riders of all ages and abilities came out to the park for their one-on-one instruction from Dean, Amber, and Tom. Each rider walked away with a new since of accomplishment and a much larger bag of tricks. One rider in particular learned a raley and within a few attempts, was able to turn it to blind, for the Blind Judge.
The 4 day WWA Wake Park World Championships Hosted by Al Forsan International Sports Resort will take place December 7-10 and is open to any and all ages and ability levels. The contests will be the first of its kind in the Middle East, as riders will strap on their wakeboards or lace up their shoes for the wakeskate.
